We offer a quality tour experience, specifically designed for junior golfers. Tournaments are held on first class, championship caliber golf courses, organized and run by professionally trained personnel. The nationally recognized, spectator events are conducted in Arizona, with two day tournaments on Saturdays and Sundays during the winter, spring and fall.

    Tournaments are held on first class, championship caliber golf courses, organized and run by professionally trained personnel. The nationally recognized, spectator events are conducted in beautiful, sunny Arizona with two day tournaments on Saturdays and Sundays during the winter, spring and fall.
     

  • How does one become a member? 

  • Membership in the Desert Junior Golf Tour  is open to all boys and girls who are at least 8 years old and have not reached their 20th birthday. Membership is for the tournament year, September - April, and is required for participation in any Desert Tour Event. Membership is free. A Parent's Consent and Member's Participation Agreement must be signed by the Parents and Junior respectively and kept on file at the Desert Tour office.
     
  • How do I play in tournaments?

  • First by becoming a registered member of the Desert Junior Golf Tour.  We offer online registration with a credit card or you may download a registration form and mail it to our office. Entry forms for events are also available. Event entry may be handled online or downloadable entry forms may be mailed or faxed to our office.  Payment for each tournament must accompany the entry. Tournaments are filled on a first come, first serve basis.  All entries must be received prior to the entry deadline date.
     
  • Is there a Code of Conduct? 

  • ABSOLUTELY! The Desert Junior Tour takes great pride in the quality of its players and host facilities for each tournament. In order to continue making Desert Junior Tour tournaments enjoyable for everyone, we require all members to adhere to a set of guidelines known as the Code of Conduct. Its purpose is to help our participants grow and mature by understanding and accepting the consequences of their actions. The Code of Conduct is to be followed throughout the junior's stay at the tournament.
     
  • What is the Code of Conduct? 

  • Violations of the Code of Conduct on the golf course include
    • Unsportsmanlike conduct, including abusive language, club throwing, disrespect to volunteers, officials or fellow competitors, or abuse of golf course property 
    • Use of drugs or alcohol, smoking or chewing tobacco products 
    • Not adhering to the dress code during practice round or tournament play 

    Violations of the Code of Conduct off the golf course

    • Any use or association with drugs or alcohol, smoking or chewing tobacco products 
    • Vandalism at a host hotel, abusive behavior to host family or their property 
    • Any other conduct not becoming of an Desert Tour member
     
  • What is the dress code? 

  • Proper attire for all Desert Junior Tour members includes: 
    • Belts must be worn by both girls and boys.
    • Shoes must be worn at all times. Spikeless golf shoes or tennis shoes only.
    • Sleeves and collars on boys' shirts.
    • Sleeves or sleeveless collared shirts on girls
    • Hats worn with bills forward

    • The Tournament Director has the right to deem other attire inappropriate. Failure to adhere to the dress code will result in appropriate action by the tournament director

  • How do I know my Tee Time?

  • Tee times are published three days before the event by the Desert Junior Tour Tournament Committee. They are available by phone at (602) 358-5706 (Desert Junior Tour  office hours 8am - 4pm MST) or at the golf course where the tournament will be played. Second round tee times are determined by score in the first round with leaders teeing last.
     
  • Can I use a caddy? 

  • Caddies will NOT be allowed for stroke play events OR any playoffs. Players are required to walk and carry their own clubs, or may use a pull cart.
     
  • Where can I see results of tournaments?

  • Tournament scores are posted upon the conclusion of the round at Tournament Results. Just click on the event details.  Results of events are also immediately posted to the Junior Golf Scoreboard
     
  • Are Spectators allowed? 

  • Spectators/Parents are allowed on the course during the event with a few guidelines.
    Spectator Guidelines for those events are as follows:
    • All spectators and parents must remain on the cart path at all times, riding or walking.
    • No golf related conversation or coaching will be allowed.
    • Golf Carts may be rented at the discretion of the host facility. Carts must remain on paths.

  • What determines the age group the junior plays in? 

  • Determined by the players' age on 9/1/2007. Players stay in the same age divison the entire 2007-2008 season. Age groups will be as follows except when noted on the tournament entry form.
    BOYS Divisons
    8-9 Boys4400 - 4700 Yards
    10-11 Boys4800 - 5500 Yards
    12-13 Boys5800 - 6200 Yards
    14-15 Boys6500 - 6700 Yards
    16-19 Boys6500 - 6700 Yards

    GIRLS Divisions
    8-11 Girls4400 - 4700 Yards
    12-14 Girls4800 - 5500 Yards
    15-19 Girls5800 - 6200 Yards

  • How do I know if my entry has been received? 

  • The Desert Junior Tour Players are notified by phone ONLY if they are placed on a waiting list. If an entry is sent in and there is no word from us, it means the player is IN the tournament or you may call our office at (480) 961-3779, 8am-4pm Mon-Fri.
     
     
  • What is the refund policy? 

  • Refund requests for a tournament will only be honored if received in the office by mail, fax or email one week (7 days) prior to the event. NO REFUNDS after that date, no exceptions. Refunded amount will be equal to the amount of the entry fee less a $25 handling fee. When requesting a refund, please include the member's name, age, the name and date of the event. Credit may be applied to future events. All refund checks will be issued as soon as possible minus the $25.00 per tournament handling fee. There are no refunds for weather shortened tournaments.
     
  • How will Players of the Year be selected? 

  • Every player will receive points based upon their finish in an event. In order to receive points a player must finish and turn in scores for 36 holes. Players withdrawing, no-showing or no-carding an event will not receive any points. Each age group will have a separate award for both boys and girls. Players with the most points in each division will be selected Players of the Year.



The Desert Junior Tour is officially sanctioned by the Plantations Junior Tour.
