AJGA LOGOThe Desert Junior Golf Tour, along with the American Junior Golf Association, are proud to announce AJGA Performance Based Entry status for the DJGT. Champions in the Boys 14-19 Division at each of the four "Major" events this season will receive AJGA open tournament exemptions and top 5 will receive 1 performance star. In addition, Players of the Year in the Boys 14-19 and Girls 15-19 divisions will receive one AJGA tournament exemption for AJGA open events. Boys who are 14-15 and girls in the 12-14 divisions will receive one AJGA Junior All Star tournament exemption for winning Player of the Year honors.

The AJGA is committed to providing the best exposure for young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships. The Performance Based Entry process will continue to ensure the strongest fields possible for AJGA events while also providing opportunities for anyone who has earned the right to compete at this level.

2010-2011 DIXON GOLF DESERT JR GOLF TOUR
TOURNAMENT GUIDELINES
  1. Our 2010-11 Season consists of 7 Open Events, 4 Majors, and a Tour Championship.
  2. Open to all junior golfers between the ages of 8-19, as long as they are not a member of a college golf team.
  3. Divisions: B/G 15-19, B/G12-14, B10-11, and B8-9
  4. Membership will be required to play in all MAJORs, Mid-Season Championship and Tour Championship.
  5. The player of the year points will be accumulated throughout the WINTER/FALL SERIES and the SPRING/SUMMER SERIES for a grand total. The player of the year will receive AJGA PBE listed under player of the year.
  6. Community service opportunities will be offered throughout the season for those juniors looking to give back to their community. These events will be on a volunteer basis and all juniors are encouraged to participate in at least one function during the season. These services will help develop a well-rounded golf resume.
  7. Video swing taping will be at each event prior to the first round on the driving range for all players in the "Recruit Me!" program. Sign-up at the registration table. You will be emailed the video file for you and another file will be kept for coaches.
  8. Physical fitness training seminars as well as Mind coaching seminars will be offered throughout the season. Please check the info tab on each tournament to see what will be offered and when.

Age groups are a guideline for the Desert Junior Tour. Any player may elect to 'play up' in a division and move 'back down' to their actual age group as they see fit. Player of the Year points will accumulate in each division and are not transferable between divisions. No player may play in an age group younger than their actual age.
